FDA: Failure, Deception, Abuse

Summary

A startling number of reports reveal that the US Food and Drug Administration is in far worse shape than most people re­alize. Few patients comprehend that they are likely to suffer and die prematurely as a result of the FDA’s failures.

 When people are diagnosed with a se­rious illness, they often find that the cure does not exist—simply because of FDA bureaucratic roadblocks. In other cases, FDA-approved drugs have horrific side ef­fects, while effective natural remedies are either banned or information about them is censored lest it interfere with drug com­pany profits. Doctors offering alternative medical choices are subject to FDA raids on their offices and clinics, their supplies of common vitamins seized as “evidence.” Patients exercising their right to healthcare freedom find few physicians willing to stand up to FDA scare tactics.

 A US House of Representa­tives study of the FDA, undertaken at the FDA’s own request, concluded that the Agency “cannot fulfill its mission,” that “its science is weak,” and that it is in need of complete regulatory reform.  The FDA fails to keep pace with science, while spending its resources intimidating those who develop innovative alternative health choices. And people are dying because life-saving therapies remain bound up in FDA red tape.
